Japan Opens its Door to Casinos

The Liberal Democratic Party is supporting the move to legalize the land based casinos and online casinos in Japan.

Though online casinos are banned in most Asian countries, the number of Asian gamblers playing online is constantly increasingly. If the move to legalize online casinos and land based casinos in Japan pushes through, it will create a major change of policy towards online casinos and gambling in general.

The move might also influence other Asian countries.

Policies in different countries differ dramatically. Japan might be reconsidering the online gambling market, but in China the government is serious in not allowing online casinos and preventing gambling to enter its online market.

A sub-committee on Tourism says that the resulting taxation and revenue growths would boost their economy.

But the social action groups have voiced their opinions about teen age gambling and the sudden arrival of casino games in their country. Some of the gambling awareness group and charitable institutions had joined together to stage protests as they expressed their fears that casinos might have a negative impact on the youth.

Further dialogues between government agencies and possible gambling operators will have to take place to have a final assessment and the public is being reassured by Japan government that public concerns will be considered before a decision will be made.
